Convergys® POC RT-PCR Mycobacterium tuberculosis / Mycobacterium avium / Mycobacterium abscessus complex Detection Kit
for use with the Convergys® POC RT-PCR Nucleic Acid Detection System
Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by bacteria from the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) group. In the detection of tuberculosis, mycobacteria are usually divided into Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) and nontuberculosis Mycobacterium (NTM). Among all NTM, the isolation rate of Mycobacterium abscessus complex (MABC) was the second, only after Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC). MABC is the fastest growing NTM with the highest pathogenicity and drug resistance. Different kinds of Mycobacteria have different response to drugs, so pathogen identification should be carried out as soon as possible.
The Convergys® POC RT-PCR Mycobacterium tuberculosis / Mycobacterium avium / Mycobacterium abscessus complex Detection Kit allows determination if a mycobacterial infection is caused by MTBC or by the NTMs M. avium or M. abscessus.
