for use with the Convergys® POC RT-PCR Nucleic Acid Detection System

The Dengue virus (DENV) is the cause of dengue fever, an acute febrile infectious disease, spread by mosquito borne transmission. According to the characteristics of the virus gene structure, it can be divided into distinct conserved serotypes: DENV 1, DENV 2, DENV 3 and DENV 4. Cross-immunity in between the serotypes is only partial, and the serotypes are associated with distinct epidemiological patterns.

The Convergys® POC RT-PCR Dengue virus Typing Kit allows determination of the present serotype for patients with a Dengue virus infection.
